Jeg kunne slet ikke lade være at skynde mig at svare på det fine lille brev – og stor poesi er det bestemt ikke, men det er til en pige på syv år (og øh… jeg ved jo ikke noget om børn, men man kan da altid gøre sit bedste):

“Dear Lighoul-Laghan and family

Thank you so much for your fine letter, which I received yesterday. What a nice drawing you made for me with the many flowers in a vase on a table. I am very happy with it! You are so good at drawing! In this letter I send you some paper and some crayons, so you can get even better at drawing.

It is very interesting to hear about your life with your family. I’m happy that you and your sisters and brother all go to school. It is so important to go to school and learn many things.

  • How far do you walk to come to school?
  • And how many children are there in your class?
  • What do you study/learn in the school?
  • Is the teacher nice?
  • What would you like to do for a living, when you become an adult?

I am also happy that you are all well and healthy!

When I go to work in the city, I always go by bike. It is 10 kilometers each way mostly through parks and nice areas. I just bought a new very nice bike, which I’m very happy with. It is a very fast bike, so now I can come to work much faster.

In Denmark we now have spring and we are waiting for the spring to be warm and friendly. A warm and friendly spring means 12 – 15 degrees and some sun. But until now it has mostly been raining, and last week we even had snow! That is not so nice.

If you have any questions about me and my life here feel free to ask them. I’ll be happy to answer them.

With much love to you and your family!

Hanne”
